Our Kennels

Dog runs are all indoor/outdoor to provide your dog with the greatest comfort conveniently located in Chapel Hill, NC. While inside, your dog will enjoy climate control, music, and barking with the other animals. A doggie door separates each side of the kennel. Noah's Ark dog kennel is a home away from home for this special part of your family. Pet boarding is no longer a stress when your pets stay at Noah's Ark!

Your dog will have access to the outside part of the run 23 hours each day to relieve himself, play, and watch nature. The outdoor area is closed off and sanitized daily while your dog rests indoors for an afternoon nap. The kennels are designed with the health and safety of your pet in mind. Dogs are unable to have contact with other animals while in the kennel.

The surfaces are concrete, brick, and galvanized metal for the best sanitation. Noah's Ark complies with USDA standards for vaccination, sanitation, waste management, and animal safety.

We happily provide clean bedding or you may bring your own. Please be aware that dogs may chew or shredding bedding while kenneled, and Noah's Ark cannot be responsible for any bedding. If this happen, we remove bedding for the health of your pet's GI system.

Our Cattery

Bring your kitty to relax in the luxury of NC's only indoor/outdoor kennel. Yes, your cat gets a private porch! The interior is climate controlled with music, a fish tank, fresh litter, and a plush rug for lounging. In a simple step through the cat door, your cat can sun her belly on her private fully enclosed porch.

This experience is great for indoor cats as it provides them the safety of the indoors just as a sun room in your home would. During extreme weather conditions and for cats who prefer inside only, the exterior porch is closed off.

The cattery is designed with the health and safety of your pet in mind. Cats are unable to have contact with other animals while in the cattery. Feeding and Snacks

Noah's Ark strives to provide all of the comforts of home, including a good meal. We feed premium dry food for the health of your pet and to reduce fecal waste.

Our in-house dog food is made by ProPet, a chicken based premium food. Our in-house cat food is Purina one.

Wet food is available for older dogs and cats who are unable to chew dry food and stressed animals who need to be enticed to eat.

We do not stock exotic foods.

If your animal is on a special diet, has digestive sensitivity, or is under 1 year, please bring your food from home. If your animal requires prescription food such as Science diet, the food can be acquired through the vet clinic next door and will be charged to your boarding bill at time of pick-up.

Our feeding schedule is your feeding schedule! We have AM and PM feeding times, noon feeding times for puppies, free feeding for responsible eaters, and afternoon snacks. We have a rotating stock of treats including crunchy and chewy treats,  raw hide chips, Greenies, peanut butter, canned tuna, cheese bits, and raw veggies. We even stock nip for the cats.

Please let us know any restrictions your animal has on snacks. Our goal is to make your pet's stay comfortable.

Water is provided to your animal at all times unless specific instructions are given by your pet's health care provider.

Water dishes are cleaned and refilled throughout the day.

Large dogs are provided with over sized water pails when appropriate. (Many of the sporting breeds like to dunk their whole heads in the water, especially labs. We want this to be a fun place for your pet.)

Noah's Ark is the place for all your pet grooming needs. Grooming is more than looking good; it's about the health of your pet. Ear health, eye sight, and skin health are all influenced by how well your pet is groomed. Our groomer has over 40 years of experience.

All of our bathing products are naturally derived and contain no pesticides. Our shampoos and conditioners use natural  citrus extracts, oatmeal extracts, and other human grade ingredients for the health of your pet, Our dips contain the safest ingredients approved for flea control by the USDA.

Yes, We will bathe your cat!

Hair cut pricing is set by the groomer depending on breed, size, and condition of coat. We are happy to extend discount for pets on a 4-6 week grooming schedule.

Medication

Medications and supplements are administered FREE of charge.

Our trained staff can administer ANY type of medication:

Eye and ear drops
Topical creams
Tablets
Liquids
Insulin injections
Vitamins
Food mix-ins

Please bring the toys or treats your pet associates with the medication for his comfort and safety.

We do not give animals medication without consent unless there is a health emergency. Should a situation such as a bee sting, diarrhea, or other mild health concern arise, both you and our on-call vet will be contacted. We keep Benadryl and bismuth on hand for these instances.

Some dogs experience intestinal distress while boarding. These dogs can be offered rice with their food as well as bismuth. We've found that a mixture of rice, bismuth, and peanut butter with dry food is a great way to help your dog control loose stool and relax the tummy. They also find it delicious.

Our facility is conveniently located next to Vine Vet Clinic.

We have access to this clinic and additional emergency services. In the event of an emergency, both you and your regular vet will be contacted.

Exercise

We will happily exercise your dog during his stay. Your dog will enjoy a 1/2 mile filled with interesting smells on our very own Franklin Street for only $2 per walk.

Dogs are walked using "choke" style training collars on 6ft leashes to ensure they do not come in contact with strangers, unfamiliar animals, or other unsafe situations.

If your pet uses a gentle leader, chest harness, prong-style training collar, or other specialty training collar, please bring it along. We're happy to use it.

Greyhounds and specially shaped dogs:
please remember your walking collar!

Most dogs will eliminate in the outdoor portion of their run, but some dogs like to "hold it" even though they are outside.

Any dog who is not properly eliminating in the outdoor portion of the run will be taken on two daily "necessity" outings to ensure renal and intenstinal health.
